Insurance Specialist

The Insurance Specialist obtains, updates and maintains information relating to insurance policies and procedures patient support.

  • Educate personnel on insurance carrier changes and requirements
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and obtain supporting documentation to assure timely processing of work orders, including insurance verification
  • Create and maintain managed care database as it relates to products/services being administered from the support center, including:
    • Plan contact information: phone number, remit to addresses, insurance identification numbers, processor/company, etc
    • Websites, User IDs and passwords for eligibility and benefit information, etc
    • Reimbursement Frequency and Prior Authorization guidelines
    • Supporting Documentation requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate (Diploma) or equivalent
  • B.A. or B.S. Degree preferred
  • 2 years of customer service/relations experience
  • 2 years of provider relations or managed care experience
