Insurance Specialist
The Insurance Specialist obtains, updates and maintains information relating to insurance policies and procedures patient support.
- Educate personnel on insurance carrier changes and requirements
- Complete all necessary paperwork and obtain supporting documentation to assure timely processing of work orders, including insurance verification
- Create and maintain managed care database as it relates to products/services being administered from the support center, including:
- Plan contact information: phone number, remit to addresses, insurance identification numbers, processor/company, etc
- Websites, User IDs and passwords for eligibility and benefit information, etc
- Reimbursement Frequency and Prior Authorization guidelines
- Supporting Documentation requirements
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate (Diploma) or equivalent
- B.A. or B.S. Degree preferred
- 2 years of customer service/relations experience
- 2 years of provider relations or managed care experience
